Realtime Court Reporting
Realtime is the instant translation of the spoken word into written form. It allows a court reporter's key strokes to instantly translate into English and appear on a laptop computer screen. Additional computers can be linked in order to allow any person to have a personal view of the instant translation. All you need is a laptop with a serial or USB port and a real-time browser installed on your laptop. You can also mark an issue, scroll through the testimony, make an annotation and search for issues you wish to follow up on. At the end of the proceedings, you have a draft to take back to the office for use while waiting for the final signed and certified copy.
Video Depositions
Do you have a witness that you would like to have videoed for later playback for trial and/or the jury? We have videographers that will video any deposition that you would like.
Daily/Expedite Transcripts
If you are pressed to meet a deadline or are preparing for an impending trial, specify that you need daily turnaround when you call or schedule your deposition online. We can provide you with a final transcript the day after the deposition.
Rough ASCII /Dirty Discs
Rough ASCII's, also called "dirty discs" are useful when transcripts are needed as soon as possible. While not perfect, they can be delivered at the end of the deposition, allowing for immediate review of the transcript.
Keyword Indexing
At the end of the transcript, the keyword indexing provides an index of all words with both page and line references.
Condensed Transcripts
Smith Reporting provides you with a condensed transcript , showing multiple pages per sheet and including a keyword index. These are convenient to use when traveling or taking your case home to study.
Electronic Transcript
An electronic transcript file is automatically e-mailed to you upon completion of your transcript. Each of our transcripts are also produced in E-transcript format, a fully formatted transcript on disk, enabling you to search, print and e-mail perfectly formatted transcripts without the need for any additional software.
Transcript Format
Our standard delivery format is full page format, condensed four-to-a-page format, and disk in ASCII and E-transcript format. Each transcript comes complete with a word index. All of our transcripts are produced in Computer Aided Transcription (CAT) format. CAT format is the format developed and used by professional reporters.
